Blue River. Hot pool

Oh my gosh, what an experience, first it was about a 40km drive in going around 20km an hour on old road that we thought we were going into the beyond. We passed a huge windmill farm, Costa Rica is powered by sustainable energy. Geothermal power which is supplied by the volcanos and from what we have noticed there seems to be plenty of wind farms around. Everyone has told us power is very cheap here.

We first went on a tour to see the dinosaurs. 23 in total

As you can imagine Boston loved it and was in his element and wanted to see them all. He was completely overwhelmed by the whole thing and was practically speechless for most of the tour. Only really beginning to talk at the end when we come down to a beautiful waterfall.

We saw some creepy crawlies that were everywhere, bullet ants,  which sting you and spiders that were bigger than your hand that the kids were really interested in. Noah and I were not that keen on touching them at all

Yip those are eyes. And its poisonous so we moved on very quickly.

Back at the lodge we all had lunch at a big outdoor under shade restaurant. Most of the cafes and restaurant's are outside or under cover but with no walls in Coco and around. We had our fruit juices and lunch then headed over towards the hot pools. Actually Richard and I explored by ourselves and we were treated to an amazing sight of a mother sloth and her baby down so low you were standing so close to her. They don't often come down that far out of trees usually just to poop once every ten days or so.

We were very blessed to see such a thing and so close to the ground. This also must mean that there is more than one sloth around the resort and the rain forest is doing well because of the fact babies are being born.

We then quickly headed off to the mud pools of volcanic mud once the sloth become too high for everyone to view. Boston quickly made sure that we were all covered in mud from top to bottom whether we wanted too or not. We showered off and noticed there were little guppies swimming in the creeks, and the hot water coming from the volcanic heat source. It was a real experience.

We then headed off to the hot pools to sit about. Boston and Dani wanted to go down the slides, the only problem with that was the pool underneath was over my head and cold. So we had to wait at the bottom freezing waiting for them to come down.

Lindsay and I headed back into warmer pools with Boston and Dani and were treated to a down pour of tropical rain. And you have never seen rain like this as it happened to pour down. Oh my goodness it was amazing.

After all the swimming we headed back to our little log cabins and took a quick shower and a couple of us fell asleep and napped and the rest of us headed out looking for food. Because everyone is always hungry here.

Completely recommend if you wanted to go to the dinosaur park in Costa Rica you don't just book the tour you book for the whole night because it means you get the whole rain forest experience and you might just get a to see a sloth and its actually works out cheaper.
